The case of the missing dragon egg

The next clue is closer
than you think.

A coded message leads to a book. A maze reveals another hiding place. Little by little, familiar rooms become a trail of discoveries, all leading back to Pip’s precious egg.

You set out the clues. Your child solves them with a pencil, a little curiosity and help when needed. The screen can stay out of the adventure.

From printer to adventure

A simple setup. A story to follow.

Print the mission

Read the grown-up guide, then print the play pages. A home printer, a pencil and grown-up scissors are all you need.

Hide the clues

Follow the hiding map to place eight clues around your home. The answers and gentle hints stay with you.

Let the hunt begin

Give your child Pip’s letter and the first clue. Read together, solve together and celebrate when the egg is found.

Plan roughly 10–15 minutes to prepare and 25–45 minutes to play the full adventure. These are estimates; take it at your child’s pace.

Good to know

Before the
adventure begins.

What do I need at home?

A printer, paper, a pencil and scissors for the grown-up. Hide clues at safe, reachable spots. The full game uses ordinary objects such as a book, a shoe and a cushion; no extra toy or prize is required.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. The puzzles use letters, numbers, shapes and lines, so solving them does not depend on colour. Print at 100% / Actual Size. The paid English pack includes both A4 and US Letter PDFs. The free mini adventure is available in English and Hungarian.

Can my child play independently?

The game is designed for ages 6–9 with grown-up help as needed. Younger readers may need the story and instructions read aloud. The grown-up prepares the trail and keeps the answer pages.

Can siblings or friends play together?

Yes. One child can play, or a small team of 2–4 can work together. Let players take turns reading, writing and searching. The clues form one shared trail.

What if I don’t have a listed hiding place?

The full pack includes optional location labels. Put a label on an envelope or box and hide the matching clue inside. Choose spots that are easy to reach and do not require climbing.

Is the free sample the full game?

The free sample is a self-contained, one-clue mini adventure with three pages. The full English pack has eight linked clues and 17 pages. Use the purchase button to buy it through Payhip and download both paper sizes after checkout.
